NEED HELP WITH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE PARTS AND INCREASING AND DECREASING INTERVALS!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just need help on the first three questions:)

zepdrix (zepdrix):

So the positive and negative is pretty straight forward isn't it? :O On the left side of the x=1, the function is below the x-axis so it's negative on that side.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Do we need to write it in interval notation for the open box?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh okay. yea

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Does your assignment have special characters or anything? If not, then I guess we could write something like `(-infty, 1)` for our negative interval. Understand how to do similar for the positive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it does. and yeah kinda

zepdrix (zepdrix):

you -_- so yah something like (1, infty), right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah
