In worked example 19. "Evaluate integral for R, where R is the finite region bounded by the axes and 2y + x = 2". The answer is given as 2/3 but R looks like a triangle 1 by 2 units with an area of 1. Is the integral supposed to give the area of R if so why is it 2/3

but if the problem is as you post, the area of the region is 1 as you point out (and not ⅔) you may be the victim of a typo in the answer.
