A Farmer moves along the boundary of a square field of side 10 m in 40 sec . What will be the magnitude of displacement at the end of 2 m 20 sec ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean. do you have any clue ? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the answer is 5 but i don't know the steps :'(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so he is moving along the corner.. just draw a square.. and trace it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there no other way i mean is it a correct answer or not?

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

2 min 20 sec = 140 sec In 40 sec, he travel 10 m so in 80 sec, 20 km in 120 sec = 30 in 140 sec = 35m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@midhun.madhu1987 Then how the is the answer ''5''?

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

for 40 sec = 10 m for 20 sec = 5 m so total distance = 35 m and displacement = 5 m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't get U @midhun.madhu1987

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@midhun.madhu1987 Thanks i get it

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

:)
