2) This one is definitely true as we have time periods in history with writing being a certain way. Consider victorian era three volume novels and Twilight for two excellent examples of how current culture affects the values and goals in the story line.

Compare novels like "A Tale of Two Cities" to a book that you could pick up at your local library today. Charles wingspanens had an entirely different style than the new authors these days. 
His life compared to that of someone who writes out of a loft in NYC are vastly different, which means that their novels can hardly be the same.
