An equation is shown below: (4x - 1) + (2x + 2) = 1 Which statement shows a correct next step in solving the equation? The equation can become 6x + 1 = 1 by combining like terms. The equation can become 3x + 4x = 1 by solving the terms in the brackets. The equation can become 3x + 4x = 1 by applying the associative property of multiplication. The equation can become 6x + 1 = 1 by applying the distributive property.
The first answer. Most of the time, unless the two terms in the parentheses are being raised to a power, multiplied/divided by, etc., if they're just adding and subtracting, the parentheses mean nothing.
Dude are you like a math major??
Dude, I'm about to head into 9th grade. I'm just really smart.
I'm only on this site because I enjoy being helpful with my knowledge.

I'm taking Algebra II online right now so I can be in Trig for my Freshman year.
Then again my worst subject is math :/ Oh wow you're smart..
I'm more of a history buff.
I can do history real well once I learn it, but I haven't gotten to absorb much.
