@rachel1217
its here right?
yes you may ask your first question here or you may open a new question by clicking on "Ask a question" on top left corner of this page
i would need help with that
basically you just need to unfold the given solid... look at first solid, it is a cylinder with top and bottom faces as `circular disks` and the middle curved region is just a folded `rectangle`, right ?
this is how the net looks when u break the solid : http://www.mathsteacher.com.au/year8/ch10_geomcons/09_cones/Image16382.gif
that would basically be the answer for the first one?
i dont understand how its a rectangle for the middle
thats a very good question :) here is a good animation : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caHvS5OIp2E
oh now i understand but on the picture you sent me it was a rectangle and in the video it was a square
square is also a kind of rectangle... so square also works !
so it really doesn't matter?
yes it doesnt matter for the net, make it a rectangle as it covers square also
okay and now the second one how would i unfold that one
what shapes do you see for the faces ?
i sent you the picture
i have it :) look at the given solid, what polygons do you see for faces ?
rectangles?
yes ! the lateral sides are all rectangles but it has two hexagonal bases also, right ?
I'm sorry what does that mean? i know nothing of geometry I'm new to this haha sorry!!
so the net looks like below : http://mathworld.wolfram.com/images/eps-gif/HexagonalPrismNet_700.gif
got it, the top would be the bottom right?
i need the net labeled with its dimensions
yep !
and the squares would be the corved surface?
curved
there is no curved surface here, the squares are called the `lateral ` sides
and what would be the top part?
just label it as `top face` and `bottom face`
which part would be the base?
it doesn't matter
and the bottom face would be the top one? just making sure
it doesnt matter what you call top/bottom
just don't call both the faces as top
okay now the 3rd question how would i do that
and the top and bottom don't matter what i label them right? and what are the rectangles called?
lateral sides
or lateral faces
and yes, top and bottom doesn't matter
and the 4th question
okay thanks now i need help with this

how do i do that
but i cannot post pictures
do you not understand my question?
ask the question first, il show u how to post the picture :)
can i ask you another question i found you very helpful
ask it as a new question, and please do not close your question... somebody will assist you for sure :)
