This equilateral triangle has rotational symmetry. Describe how many degrees and in which direction you will have to rotate the figure so that it maps onto itself: dont get this??

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

|dw:1407144361182:dw|

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

rotate this : |dw:1407144405005:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, what does it mean to map itself??

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

how many degrees you need to rotate so that the triangle looks looks exactly like it was originally ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

I think you need to rotate the triangle by `360/3 = 120` degrees for it to map exactly over itself. it doesn't matter which direction you rotate

Oh okau I get it thank you and for the other question above that one? was I right?
