Well.. 
An Encyclopedia or history book would be non-fiction 
Romeo and Juliet or The Vampire's Assistant (By Darren Shan) would be fiction. 


You have to keep in mind that fiction is iterature in the form of prose, especially short stories and novels, that describes imaginary events and people.

None fiction is prose writing that is based on facts, real events, and real people, such as biography or history.
