why is it important for citizens in a democracy to have more than one way to participate in government and politiccs?

Answer 1

Because only one way to participate limits the citizens in the amount of good or ideals that they can spread. Only one avenue of participation puts a clamp on unwanted epithets hurled at the government. A multitude of ways that citizens can participate may be better for one citizen who is best at public speaking or another who writes well to voice their opinions and ideas in the clearest possible way.
