first you need to put the polynomial on the right side in standard form (this means you will first need to distribute on the right hand side)

you need to do this because the left side is in standard form

so both sides need to be in the same form to find what B is

there is a shortcut but i don't think we should do that until you have more experience with multiplying polynomials

first let's look at multiplying (x-8y)(x+by) then we will come back in multiply all terms we get from that by 2 since we did have 2*(x-8y)(x+by) so anyways back to (x-8y)(x+by) you can do this by what the americans call foil method it seems to be all the rage in america :p have you ever heard of that method?
