Trigonometry 17 Online

How would I find the points for this equation? I've already found the vertex, focus, and directrix. (y+3)^2=8(x-3)

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

finding points is easy part .... plug in a "y" value to get an x value, theres a point :)

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

example y=0 --> (0+3)^2 = 8(x-3) --> 9 = 8(x-3) --> 9/8 = x - 3 --> (9/8) +3 = x point: (9/8 +3, 0) and because of symmetry of parabola and y=0 is 3 away from vertex you know another point is (9/8+3, -6)

Thank you!
