The original value of a car is $22,000, and it depreciates by 15% each year. What is the value of the car after 3 years?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

22000 * .15 * .15 * .15 = 74.25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

move the decimal point over 2 times to the left for percent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah so it goes like... 22000*.15=3300 18700 after 1 year 18700*.15=2805 15895 after 2 years 15895*.15=2384.25 13510.75 after 3 years....simple as that!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yah he's right so it depricates by .15. then you subtract the deprication from the total, my bad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks(:
