someone please explain to me what 9 meters higher than altitude x what is that?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm what's the context?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9 meters higher than altitude x

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well... what's the full material though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u mean?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

altitude of what object... what's the object or material related to it a triangle... a house, some shape.... ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no there is no shape its just matching the words to the eqution this is Algebra 1

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well.... 9 units(meters) higher(more) than x will just be x + 9

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

say you have 5 bucks and your brother has 9 more than you so your brother has 5 + 9 if you had "x" bucks your brother would have x + 9 then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so what does meters mean and altitude x mean?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

meters is just a unit...roughly 3feet, a bit over altitude is just another way to say "height" say you're 5feet tall.... that means your altitude is 5feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks!

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15'C hotter than temperature x?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

that just means \(15^oC\) more than "x" so \(\bf x + 15^oC\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

$9 cheaper than 4 times price x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be 4x-9 or 9-4x?
