Brett has determined a function f(x) that shows the exponential growth of the number of shoes Larae owns each year. Explain how the f−1(x) can be found and what f−1(132) means.

@Preetha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero

hero (hero):

In order to solve this, we need \(f(x)\) since \(f^{-1}(x)\) has to be found.

hero (hero):

Did they provide you with \(f(x)\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f^-1(132)?

hero (hero):

It says "Brett determined a function \(f(x)\)". We need that in order to solve this. \(f^{-1}(132)\) means nothing by itself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how can f^-1(x) be found?

hero (hero):

Provide, the function \(f(x)\), then I'll be able to explain to you how to find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there isnt one, thats the whole question is what i typed

hero (hero):

Provide the diagram that goes with it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero there isnt a diagram...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a short response question..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could f(365) since its one year?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my teacher said "think of what function is the inverse of the exponential functions"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats everything i can provide, thats the whole question... if you dont know,i have another that i need help with if you have more time

hero (hero):

"Number of shoes Larae owns each year"...that's a huge indication that a graph has been provided.

hero (hero):

I can't help you with any questions if you don't provide all of the information necessary to understand the questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is all the info provided, can you help with another ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Phillip received 75 points on a project for school. He can make changes and receive two-tenths of the missing points back. He can make corrections as many times as he wants. Create the formula for the sum of this geometric series, and explain your steps in solving for the maximum grade Phillip can receive. Identify this as converging or diverging.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

120% of 75, or 75×1.2 which is 90. i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero is this correct? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Australopithecus can you help me please? :/

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

Alright f^-1(x) is the inverse function, watch this guys video he is really great at explaining this stuff. theory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSmFzOpxhbY How to actually do it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec5YYVxyq44

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

You should be able to answer this question after watching these videos

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i watched that video haha, im honestly so lost in the question..

hero (hero):

@Australopithecus, the question he posted originally cannot be solved. The only meaningful information given was \(f^{-1}(132)\) which is actually meaningless by itself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think it needs to be solved,itr just asks what it means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is the year in which she has 132 shoes that is all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

doesnt seem logical to ask that tho, i dont know...

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

@Hero All he needs to know for this question is the theory, he can give a general answer if he understands what an inverse function is
