Medians means that the lines divide everything in half. You have point H extended beyond the median so it also lies on the straight line half way between points B and C.

triangle AGD is similar to triangle AHC based on these three facts angle GAD = angle HAC HA = 2*GA CA = 2*DA

So we use those 3 facts and the SAS similarity theorem to say triangle AGD is similar to triangle AHC

So we can then use this to prove that angle ADG = angle ACH since they are corresponding angles. Because they are congruent, this proves GD || HC
