Oh this was answer previously "Romeo and Juliet have just married when Romeo witnesses the fight. Romeo, being the happy newly married man, tries to break up the fight between Tybalt and Mercutio. Though Tybalt was his enemy before, Romeo loves Tybalt in an odd way for his cousin, Juliet. Tybalt does not know the reason why Romeo loves him, and is preparing to fight Romeo. He wanted to fight Romeo because Romeo showed up at the Capulet's party that night. Romeo moved out of the way when Tybalt almost stabbed him, and Tybalt killed Mercutio. Romeo then realizes that the person he talked to a lot just died and has conflicting feelings about Tybalt. On one hand, Tybalt is his wife's cousin and it might screw up the dynamics of the relationship if Romeo kills Tybalt. On the other hand, Romeo needs justice to be served for the murder of Mercutio, his best friend. In the end, the need for justice does win out and Romeo kills Tybalt."
