Jose's script scripts are executed in someone's browser when they view a page. This is an example of A-B2B B-Client-side script C-Dreamweaver D-Server-side script

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is D @e.mccormick you think i'm right?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

What type of software is a browser? That is the clue.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um lol so is that D i really have no idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A commercial based server-side script language would be Dreamweaver HTML XHTML Wordpress

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

It is not D. A browser is not a server.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Client side? for first one Dreamweaver for 2nd?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yes. A browser is a web client, so if the browser does the work it is client side scripting. And for the second, yah, (X)HTML are web page design standards and Wordpress is a web site that hosts things for you.

The Dino Dog Food website could not be housed in their office, since they do not have a server. True False Siva added a "Contact Form" to her website. This is used for the collection to be included in business contacts databases security spam A database can be used to manage which of the following for a website? Accounting formulas XHTML Code Firewalls Images I know a lot but if you could help me with these and some more thatd be so great

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, which do you think and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first- false-- because the server can be somewhere else? maybe 2nd-databases that's where the info is stored 3rd- no idea >,<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tbh i dont get this at all lol... idk where i can even learn this, my flvs class isnt teaching me anything but the actual coding, tho i have to take exams and know this

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I have a call... joys of support. Well, on the first one, you said false but because it would be somewhere else. So are you saying it would be in their office because it would be somewhere else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no idea, i figured maybe the server can be located outside the office.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Exactly. But the question says "could not be housed in their office" which is what you are saying. By saying false, you negate that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so its true.. because the servers not in the office, was i right on the 2nd?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

On the second, I am not sure. The question is worded very poorly. A form can go to a database, a text file, an email address, or a custom script that does any number of other things with it. The last two answers are easy to drop, so it has to be one of the first two. It depends on if they mean what is the data used for or what it is used (stored) in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ill go with databases cross my fingers do you understand #3?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

On the third, well, databases store things. Which of those is something that could be stored?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Images yeah?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

database: a comprehensive collection of related data organized for convenient access, generally in a computer. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/database See, with a database being that, almost anything can be managed in it. However, there are image databases I know of, so that was my best choice too. You might store the image, the date it was taken, the date it was uploaded, and other metadata. Metadata is data on data, so the date is metadata on the picture because it talls things about the picture.

Question 10 (Multiple Choice Worth 7 points) John developed code with Maysha on a book club website that is free to the community, where other users can contribute ideas. This would be an example of an application source operating system open source XHTML Joe's Garage wants to purchase an authoring tool for their website. What should they use? An author Dreamweaver The Internet Word processing program Paul decides to build a website and wants to have a shopping cart feature. This is an example of business to business commerce ecommerce internet commerce WYSIWYG 1.Open source 2.Word processing program 3. ecommerce

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

1 looks good. 2, well, a word proessor can do it, but it is not specifically a web authoring tool. 3 looks good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there a better answer for #2 tho?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The internet?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Ah, one of the earlier answer may be confusing... See, DreamWeaver is the development program. ColdFusion is the server side stuff that that it used to be linked with. I don't use them, but remember when Adobe bought out Macromedia, the original authors of both.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

joe's Garage wants to purchase an authoring tool for their website. What should they use? An author Dreamweaver The Internet Word processing program

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that one?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, Dreamweaver is a web development tool. http://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver.html Which makes me wonder more about "A commercial based server-side script language would be." Looking at that again, NONE OF THEM!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

A commercial based server-side script language would be Dreamweaver \(\leftarrow\) Web development tool. It is commercial, but not server sided. HTML \(\leftarrow\) Client side language standard, not commercial. XHTML \(\leftarrow\) Client side language standard, not commercial. Wordpress \(\leftarrow\) An open source CMS that is written in PHP and designed to work with MySQL. While this is server side, the script language is PHP and none of it is commercial!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dang so yeah i should just go with dreamweaver >.<

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yah. So the earlier one, I don't know. I would argue with them for even asking it. For this one, Dreamweaver is a commercial editor, far better choice than some random word processor.

You are testing a website and decide to copy and paste content from another website to test the overall appearance. Is this legal, and why or why not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd probably say not legal due to copyright and plagiarism

OpenStudy (rsmith6559):

I'm not an expert. I would say that as long as you don't distribute or use the content on another website without permission, that would be "private use", which I believe is the standard.
