What is the equation of the ellipse with foci (5, 0), (-5, 0) and co-vertices (0, 4), (0, -4)?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so the foci are at \(\bf (\pm 5, 0)\) and the co-vertices are at \(\bf (0,\pm 4)\) so.... where do you think the center of is at?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure...

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well... put those points in the cartesian plane... notice where the center would be keep in mind that vertices and/or co-vertices as well as foci are equidistants from the center of the ellipse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure... I'm not good at math and it's extremely difficult for me...
