Algebra: Is it possible to solve this for x purely by hand? Please provide the solution if so: 17/(2x-2) = 2/(x-1) + (x+4)/4

If anyone is wondering btw, I always end up with a cubic polynomial that I don't think can be simply factored out.. so I can't really solve this by hand. Any ideas are welcome, thanks!

Never mind, a simple solution to this is to notice that from the start, 2x-2 can be factored into 2(x-1) and from there the rest is easy.
