OpenStudy (asevilla5):

Every sentence has syntax. Syntax is the arrangment of the parts of speech in the sentence. It's just like how every substance has molecular bonds. They can be arranged in different ways, which gives the substance different physical properties, but there are always molecular bonds. These three sentences are "the same," sort of, but they have different syntax: 1. I will go to New York. 2. To New York I will go. 3. Go to New York I will. #1 is the "normal" way to say this. #2 sounds sort of old-fashioned but also emphasizes the destination more strongly. #3 means that the person who's talking is named "Yoda" :) So in your example you could say: 1. He drank rum -- five glasses every morning. 2. He drank five glasses of rum every morning. 3. Every morning, he drank five glasses of rum. (or several other possibilities).
