]Yasmin is training for a marathon, and each month she increases her running distance. During her 4 months of training, her distances were 1, 5, 9, and thirteen miles. What is the rule the sequence follows? Add 4 miles to the previous number. Divide the previous number by 5. Multiply the previous number by 5. Subtract 4 miles from the previous number.

"Add 4 miles to the previous number" works if you know the previous number. 4m -3 works if you know the month ordinal only. Yasmin would have run 21 miles on the 6th month.
