okay the situation is Robert got 5 chocolates more than john and total number of chocolates were 35.. now number of chocolates Robert got = x number of chocolates john got= y then from first condition , x=y+5 from second condition ,x+y=35 Then can you find x and y?

the one I gave you before is the word problem and to find the answer. you plug in x= y+5 to x+y=35 y+5+y=35 2y+5=35 2y=30 15=y then plug in 15 to x=y+5 x=15+5 x=20
