what methods have you used to try to solve this?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
idk i give on this.
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
you should start with using symbols to represent the 2 unknown numbers - lets call them x and y
you are told that their difference is 5, so can write:\[x-y=5\]
and you are asked to find x and y such that their product is a minimum. their product, P, is:\[P=xy\]
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
do you know how to proceed from here?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
um.. i'm lost..
