OpenStudy (asnaseer):

i got 3 and idk about the other #

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

how did you get 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops sorry wrong number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25,5

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

what methods have you used to try to solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk i give on this.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

you should start with using symbols to represent the 2 unknown numbers - lets call them x and y you are told that their difference is 5, so can write:\[x-y=5\] and you are asked to find x and y such that their product is a minimum. their product, P, is:\[P=xy\]

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

do you know how to proceed from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um.. i'm lost..

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

you should read your text/exercise books to refresh yourself on what methods should be used to answer a question like this and then re-attempt it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have a textbook...

OpenStudy (cj49):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (cj49):
