the domain and range of a linear function?

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

Domain is the X and range is the y

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if the line isn't completely vertical or completely horizontal, then the domain and range is the set of all real numbers

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

this is because you can plug in any number for x to get an output for y. So that means the domain is the set of all real numbers. also, it's possible to produce any y value you want which is why the range is the set of all real numbers
