What advantages did the American Continental Army have in the Revolutionary War?

OpenStudy (jgirl128):

americans had many advantages in the revolutionary war. for example: the british were fighting in a war that was far away from their home and because of this, it would take military orders, troops, and supplies months to reach them. also, american's had a great cause for being in the war: they were fighting for their rights, independence, and their liberty. the british just wanted to persuade American's to give up their independence so they were already at a disadvantage.

OpenStudy (jgirl128):

also, Americans knew the land better than the British, they were in alliance with France and Spain, and they shut off the coast to prevent people from entering or leaving
