In cricle O, angle DOG =92 and arc DG=16. What is length of radius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think you need to convert 92 degrees into radian first :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haven't learned that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

92 times pi divided by 180 to make your 92 degrees into radian.. which the answer is \[\frac{ 23\pi }{ 45 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you have your arc length which is16... are you familiar with the formula in finding the arc's length? \[S= r \theta \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16=1.6 =10 and then teake the sq rt of 10 =3.16????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since you have the arc's length and the theta. you can change the equation into \[r = \frac{ S }{ \theta } \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with that equation, you can now solve for the radius of your circle :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haven't learned theta or sine yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait. is the central angle of the circle is O?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only angle measurement given is 92 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1407681260704:dw| is it like this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ot this? |dw:1407681364204:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my choices for answer are: 3.16, 4.97, 19.93,9.94

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhhhh okay.. wait... i'll draw for the answer :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry-like the second picture -with center angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertex in center not on circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

soooo.. it's the second image?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
