Doing algebra review. fanning and giving medal Select the best possible first step to solving the system by first eliminating the x variable. 4x + 9y = 21 3x - 8y = 1 Multiply the first equation by 3, and multiply the second equation by 4. Multiply the first equation by -3, and multiply the second equation by -4. Multiply the first equation by 8, and multiply the second equation by 9. None of the above <---- I picked this ( I think it "b" or "D" but im not very sure)
@satellite73
it is a trick question
the first two will not make the \(x\) term drop out but "Multiply the first equation by 8, and multiply the second equation by 9" will make the \(y\) terms add to zero
they are being very tricky, and kind of mean too
Very mean ): I don't know. I guess ill stick to D?
