Please help, will give medal and become fan. :) If f(x) = x - 4, what does f(3) represent? The value of (x - 4) when x = 3 The value of x when (x - 4) = 3 The value of 3f(x) when x = 3 The value of f(x) when (x - 4) = 3

I believe it's C

OpenStudy (mrnood):

f(x) means this is a function of an unknown variable x, and for any value of x there is an equivalent value of the function f(x) f(x) = (x-4) means 'for any value of x, the equivalent value of f(x) is (x-4)' (C is not correct)
