how to start a conclusion paragraph

OpenStudy (asevilla5):

I agree that you never start a conclusion with "In conclusion" because its moronic. But, to answer your initial question: my english teacher used to tell me to basically rephrase my introduction. The introduction was an inverted pyramid (general to thesis) so conclusion should be a pyramid (thesis to general). However, don't write it out verbatim. Maybe keep the first sentence somewhat similar and then spread out from there. And don't reread your introduction either because then the conclusion will just sound exactly the same as the introduction or you wouldn't be able to think of anything new. Hope this helps!

OpenStudy (triciaal):

The conclusion should summarize what was discussed and restate what was in the introduction as the thesis statement. Try to use different words to convey the same message. As above do not say "in conclusion"!
