In negative feedback an increase in a substance triggers inhibition of its production. For example: High amounts of testosterone gives a negative feedback to the hypothalamus which reduces the GnRH production. This signals anterior pituitary to reduce LH and FSH production. This finally inhibits interstitial cells from producing large amounts of testosterone and thus testosterone level starts dropping.
