What would be the overall charge on a substance composed of 19 protons, 18 electrons, and 20 neutrons? +1 0 -1 -2

OpenStudy (mokeira):

The overall charge would be +1 (positive 1). Protons have a positive charge, electrons have a negative charge, and neutrons are neutral, meaning they have no charge. ! so basically, 19-18=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would have a positive charge of +1 because there are more protons than electrons whereas a neutron is electrically neutral.... Hope it helps!! and yeah mokiera is right

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

+1

OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):

Since 1 extra positive charge is present..
