(HC) In 1950, why did the Soviet Union object to the inclusion of China as one of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council? At the time, communists were attempting to take over China and had yet to succeed. China would have greater veto power than the Soviet Union and would veto Soviet ideas. At the time, China was a U.S possession and would vote against Soviet interests China had just become communist and the Soviets did not want another communist nation on the council.
