What are you studying?

This looks like a question about the very basic concepts of the subject. You need ot know this information for any other study of geography/astronomy or whatever requires measurement of the earth.

It will be one of the FIRST things mentioned in your text book. YOu should REALLY just go and read to find this out for yourself - you will need to KNOW this - not just ask others - and oyu may find out other good stuff about lattitiude and longitude on the way.
