I'm Stuck!!!!
Christiaan Eijkman shared the Nobel Prize in 1929 for the discovery of vitamins. Eijkman went to Java to isolate the pathogen causing beriberi, an illness that appeared to be contagious as it was common in prisons and among ship crews. Eijkman noticed that chickens fed a diet of white rice also suffered from a similar disorder. When the chickens were fed a diet of red rice, the chickens quickly recovered. What can Eijkman safely infer at this point from his observations? Humans with symptoms similar to those of chickens should change their diet. White rice contains little nutritional value for humans and chickens. Beriberi is most certainly not a pathogen. Diet may be the cause of beriberi, but more research is needed.
@Abhisar @agreene @Gabebro13
Dr. Abhisar, you got this right?
What do u think it should be ?
Okay... Imma go.... you got this @Abhisar
yes i got it @Gabebro13 :D
D
Well, I'm vegan, And I know for a fact that white rice does not have as much nutritional value as brown rice, but I THINK (I may be wrong) That more research is needed.
D would make the most sense though.
okay so im right?
@Abhisar what do you think?
I will like u to recheck the option 3
Okay so its C
Wait, really?? Why?
No the answer is D
SO IM RIGHT????????????
Oh, haha you sneaky thing xD
:D
Thanks For Confusing Me Now............
He wanted to make sure you were not cheating and actually paying attention.
He asked me what my answer was and i said D right before you even answered lmao
Notice how when he said it was C, you automatically agreed with him, rather than staying with the obvious correct answer, D.
For a fact: White rice or polished rice lacks vitamin \(\sf B_1\) which is the major cause of Beriberi

I only eat brown rice tbh, It is much more nutritious.
I'd like to point out that because the question/answer is worded oddly, C is also true. ...to isolate the pathogen \(\sf causing\) beriberi...
Yes but I think with more research we can really be sure. You are not wrong, but D makes the most sense.
okay look i come on here for people to help me answer my questions i suggest my answer that i came up with and if he tells me its a different answer then i agree! i said D so end of story
@agreene u can say this because u know now for afact that beriberi does not have a pathogen. But when it was unknown, in its initial stages it was not that easy to say it. Read the lines an illness that `appeared to be contagious` as it was common in prisons and among ship crews.
@_Army_Strong_ , we are not here to just give you the answers, we are here to help you learn, not cheat. We are simply discussing the question that YOU posted.

omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! didnt i just tell you that i suggest my answer that i came up with i dont want him to give me the answer i know hes smart so if he told me C was right i would believe him okay so stop
