Will give medal! Use the intersect method to solve the equation. x^2 -1= -X^2 +7 (I know you have to graph the two sides as separate equations and find the points where they intersect, but what next?)

OpenStudy (agreene):

points where they intersect mean that where they intersect are values that solve the system

OpenStudy (agreene):

I worded that odd. The intersections are solutions to the system

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When I graphed them it got the intersections (-2,3) and (2,3), so would those just be the answer?

OpenStudy (agreene):

yes

OpenStudy (agreene):

well, it's just on var so actully your answer would be (-2,3); (2,3) since they are x,y we know \[x=-2 ~~;~~x=2\] are the solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's it? Wow. I was worried that it was some complex way to find the answer. I guess not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. :)

OpenStudy (agreene):

no problem
