A few trig questions: 1. True or False: for a one-to-one function, y=f(x), then x=f^-1(y). Explain the answer please. 2. True or False: For any function, x=f^-1(y), then y=f(x). Explain your answer. 3. The graph y=sinx is increasing on the interval [pi/2, 3pi/2]
I know the answers to these questions, but I just can't explain why they're true/false :(
I might be wrong, but are these the answers? 1. True 2. True 3. False
hey! i would totally love to help you!! but i finished trig with a b and its been a while so i dont want to give you the wrong answers!!
Ah, alright x) Know anybody that *could* help me? :o
Or at least could you give it your best shot? x)
i can tag some people, but no guarentee......most these people (especially Josh) are science nerds XDD @iPwnBunnies @nincompoop @anonymous_user nobody else i am following or whatever is on....sorry! hope they can help!
Alright, thanks :D
o_o I haven't taken Trig yet.
lol my bad @anonymous_user !....for some reason i thought you had xD
Ye. Especially Josh. Thanks a bunch, Kenzi. 1. Should be true. Take any equation of a line, basically. 2. It should be true. I'm not exactly sure. 3. Totes false. Sin x is decreasing from pi/2 to pi, at least. So it's not strictly increasing or decreasing on interval pi/2 to 3pi/2
your welcome Josh :) Love you!!! hehe
Alright, thanks Bunnies~ But could you explain number one a bit more?
Sure, a one-to-one function means for every x-value, you get a unique y-value. The best example of this is any line. Let's say y = 3x+ 5 is our line. If we find the inverse: x = 3y + 5 The inverse is also a line.
I feel like I'm not explaining this correctly. Sorry, I'm a little drained and need fewd.
Ah, alrightttt
Thanks anyway! :D Here, have a medal~
