Can someone please help me with an SAT question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A four-digit integer, WXYZ, in which W, X, Y, Z each represent a different digit, is formed according to the following rules. 1. X = W + Y + Z 2. W = Y + 1 3. Z = W - 5 What is the four-digit integer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says the answer can only be 5940. But I suspect the answer can also be 1706? Can it be 1706 too?

OpenStudy (nikato):

No. 1706 doesn't follow the third rule. 6 doesn't equal 1-5
