OpenStudy (tylerd):

ok so the area of this rectangle is 4x6 and its 1/40th the size of the actual room.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (tylerd):

4x6=24

OpenStudy (tylerd):

24=1/40x

OpenStudy (tylerd):

(24)(40)=x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what do we do multiply those

OpenStudy (tylerd):

24 times 40 = 960

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (tylerd):

but wait because you have to put it in sq ft and it gave you the drawing in inches so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so

OpenStudy (tylerd):

960in/12in =80sq ft \[\frac{ 960 inches }{1 } \times \frac{ 1 ft }{ 12 inches }\]

OpenStudy (tylerd):

im not 100% on this one, but thats my best guess.

OpenStudy (tylerd):

the answer of 80 sq ft seems like a pretty clean answer so i think its right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah
