Hitler's power, when US entered the War was (at least apparently) big. He was deeply in Russia at that point of the War.
But as Stalin predicted, Hitler couldn't go into a War with Russia before Hitler somehow takes care of England, because of a 2 front war. And he did LOSE, and that is the why.
