Lets discuss the reason why...... HIV- Retrovirus...... what the heck is a retrovirus. Its a virus that carries RNA + RNA reverse transcriptase. What in the world is a REVERSE transcriptase? Calm down. Its an enzyme that is able to make viral RNA into viral DNA, and it doesnt have introns. The virus will also have an intergase (Enzyme that insert the viral DNA into the host genome) Once the viral DNA is inserted into the host genome, the viral DNA is now called the provirus/Temperate virus. This is also call the lysogenic pathway. This Viral DNA will remain dormant for a long time until a "stress" causes it to become active. When this occurs...... may God be with you.
