Can someone help me with this?? Translate the problem situation to a system of equations. Do not solve. Bill & Jose's Discount Cinema sold adult tickets for $2.80 each and children's tickets for $1.80 each. Last Tuesday, a total of $71.80 was collected from 36 movie watchers. How many of each type were sold? A. x - y = 36; 2.80x + 1.80y = $71.80 B. x + y = 71.80; 2.80x + 1.80y = $36 C. x + y = 36; 2.80x + 1.80y = $71.80 D. x + y = 4.60; 2.80x + 1.80y = $71.80

Is this from a test? :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let x no. of adult tickets and y no. child tickets were sold. Since adult ticket cost $2.80 each and children's ticket cost $1.80 each, Total collection = 2.80x+1.80y 2.80x+1.80y=71.80 Also, Since 36 movie tickets were sold, x+y=36
