-10>1/2x-6

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

isolate x by itself

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

So what I would do first is add 6 on both sides

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

Which leaves you with -4>1/2x

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

Then get rid of the fraction by multiplying both sides by 2

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

@nfiguero Do you get it? Therefore the answer is x<-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-10>1/2x-6 1/2x-6+6>-10+6 1/2x>-4 1/2*2/1x>-4*2 x>-8

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

no you can't just switch the order for the 2nd line

OpenStudy (help!!!!):

if you did it like that, the inequality would look like this 1/2x+6<-10
