I am going to Lane Commuinty college next fall and i have to take an placement test in Math, Reading, and Writing can anyone help me study please?
are you taking the compass test or a different type of placement test?
Well I would brush up and review topics you've already learned. The beauty of placement tests (if done correctly) is that they'll figure out where you score and be able to see which class you fit into. So that's why you shouldn't worry too much about them.
So for example, if you know algebra very well, but struggle with pre-calc, then the test will catch this and place you in a pre-calc class so you can learn what you need.
these were my wost 3 subjects in high school and i'm 21
so it's been 3 years since you've been in classes?
i don't know what type of testes there are and yes
well basically you will take specific tests for specific courses usually the main ones are math and english (maybe science as well) so for the math one for example, you'll be asked a ton of questions that range from arithmetic to calculus. The ones you get right will be the ones where they say to themselves "oh we don't need to teach you this since you know it" which means they move on. The ones you get wrong will be the ones where they will then place you. In my case, I took the placement test and got mainly the calculus problems wrong which meant that I got placed in the calculus course.
before i can even start studing i have to wait for my l number and password
thank you
this may be a good place to start in terms of review http://www.purplemath.com/modules/ordering.htm
it's a lot, I know however, you should be able to remember a few things and go from there
should i look for an another touter for the reading and writing testes?
are you there Jim
if you think you need a tutor, then sure, go for it nothing wrong with getting a tutor to help you brush up on skills
ok i will look at lcc if they will help me even thought i'm not an student yet
I'm not sure on their policy, so they might. You can also try free forums or things to look up online if you get stuck on something.
