bacteria produce a variety of restriction enzymes which cut the DNA at specific site characterized by specific sequence of 4 or 6 nucleotides arranged symmetrically in reverse order..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am bit confused about these lines... (characterized by specific sequence of 4 or 6 nucleotides arranged symmetrically in reverse order..) = is it talking about palindromic sequences ?

@agreene @Abhisar

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

I think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah..about palindromic sequences recognized by restriction enzymes...the restriction sites

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@BIOCRYSTAL ok can u please elaborate the words arranged symmetricaly in reverse order

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

yea I do think it is talking about palindromic sequences. When it says arranged symmetrically, I believe it means that it is arranging in a certain corresponding order which is reverse or 'backwards' order.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm ,, i m getting it :)

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

oh good :-)
