A box has dimensions of 17 inches long, 1.3 feet wide, and 8 inches high. What is the volume of the box? The formula for the volume is V = l • w • h. Can this be explained?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would put all the measurements into inches, so you have 17*15.6*8 You have to multiply all three measurements, and then you get the volume in inches cubed. I would say yes, this can be explained.

i Know it can be explained but explain the answer is what I'm having trouble with

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok, sorry. The answer you get is 2121.6 inches cubed. This means that 2121.6 cubes with dimensions of 1 inch by 1 inch by 1 inch would fit in the box. Does that help at all?

Yes thank you!
