Question

There is this man who stole and used credit cards from multiple people and states and was sent to 20 years of federal prison. and im suppose to include what amendment i might have looked at to decide the punishment was unfair

cruel and unusually punishment, I think it's the 5th amendment. LOL though, I know a local guy who spent 2 months in county lock up for stealing a $5 cooked chicken from local store. He was/is an alcoholic that fell on hard times and stole it just to eat, it really could be considered excessive punishment but what can a poor may due.
