I think (hope!) I got this question right, but I was guessing and want to know if I am correct/why I was or was not.
Here goes :)
Last year, Jane opened an investment account with $8200. At the end of the year, the amount in the account had decreased by 26.5%. How much is this decrease in dollars?

How I processed this was to convert the % to a decimal. Which I think is .265
Then I took 8200 and multiplied by the decimal, which came up with 2173.
Any help on this?
