well we can assume its not A because i don't think texas had any relations with spain

for B texas was already apart of the united states the time stephan austin was around

in C mexico did not get along well with texas so i don't see why they would want to join them

and for D this one sounds like the perfect answer because in this time Texas had problems with the rest of the USA. Even to this day some texans want to be its own separate country
