(2)3x +(2)4y = (2)-2
(3)2x - (3)3y = 3(10)

6x + 8y = -4
6x - 9y = 30

y = 26/17 = 2

I see the problem....
6x + 8y = -4
-6x + 9y = -30
sure the x's do cancel and the y is correct it would be 17, but you have a -4 and -30 which would be -4-30 = -34
17y=-34
y = -2
