do photosynthesishappen at nigth ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it can happen both night and day.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

acually no, im sorry i was wrong. photosynthesis can only happen in the day time because plants require light, either natural or artificial. There are similar reactions that some organisms use in the deep ocean to obtain energy from heat sources like volcanic vents on the ocean floor. Since there is no light this is not photosynthesis, but is called thermosynthesis,

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Yes that's correct...but in some plants like opuntia or any other CAM plants part of photosynthesis [Dark reaction/Kreb's cycle] occurs at night.
